What Bounce Manager does
Bounce Manager can identify and remove from your database the subscribers whose email addresses produce un-deliverable or returned emails usually called bounces. |

What you need in order to use it
The Bounce Manager component is an add-on for Newsletter Manager Pro v.7.00-7.50 (also availablle for releases 6.50/6.52). You need Newsletter Manager Pro and either one of these 3rd party components: Chilkat Email ActiveX or AspPOP3 or w3JMail v.4.4/4.5 professional edition (or higher) or DynuPOP3. Depending on the circumstances even a valid email can at certain times return soft bounces but hard bounces as well (unlikely but it does happen). This is why we created an adaptable bounce manager. Each un-deliverable email is analyzed to find a description of why it bounced. A returned email may contain various descriptions (of reasons) of why it bounced depending on the SMTP services and mail servers used in the communication process. Bounce Manager gives you the option to add more rules to it. In other words you can train this module to understand the type of bounces involved.

Similarly as above it wouldn't be a good approach to immediately delete a subscriber whose email address bounced once. Instead, Bounce Manager scans and classifies each returned email as either hard or soft bounce and updates the related subscriber accounts (Pick 1). Then you can delete only the subscribers whose emails bounced more than a specified number of times (Pick 2).

It is multi-language. If for example your server operating system is running on a language other than English then the related messages can also be in a language other than English. With our Bounce Manager you add your own descriptions in the language of your choice.

Operation
Using Bounce Manager is very simple. You will receive a few files to place in your existing installation of Newsletter Manager Pro and you will see a new menu in your Tools page (Pick 3).
When you click on "Process bounced emails" the scanning of your mailbox will start. At the end you will see how many emails were found and how many were identified as soft or hard bounces (Pick 1).

| Benefits of processing bounced emails |

Improved deliverability: ISP's do not like to receive emails that will bounce. Therefore you minimize the chances of having your IP or email getting blacklisted and thus having your newsletters rejected as spam.

By removing subscribers whose email addresses bounced you maintain a clean mailing list. You will get less bounces in the next mailing.

These components are widely popular among hosting companies. Therefore it is quite likely that they are already installed on your server. You can ask your host about them but you can also try a utility that we provide to check whether they are installed. Download it here. Instructions are included in the zip file. You can also ask your host whether they will allow you to install a component. If you have your own dedicated server then you can install it without a problem. The Chilkat Email ActiveX would be a good choice since it is provided by us at no extra cost for you. |
